We have a user that is connect through a remote desktop connection using Windows XP, the terminal server is Windows Server Microsoft office 2007 excel copy paste not working free download some reason Excel will not let her copy and paste between Excel documents.

It will copy, but when you go to the next document, the paste option is always grayed out. Anything else will copy and paste. Excel is the only one having issues. Here’s what I’ve tried:. I’ve tried opening them by double-clicking each. And also by opening one and then going to the Office button and Open and finding the other one. I copied them over to the desktop and pastd them from there but still had the same issue.

I could copy and paste into that without a problem. But I could not copy and paste from that to a saved document. Once I saved that same document to the desktop, I could no longer copy and paste from it or into it.

If I opened a frer brand new Excel document before saving, once again I could copy and paste into it without a problem.

It seems to be just this one user. I had seen them before but didn’t think anything of it because none of them looked like they’d have anything to do with the clipboard. I enabled all three. Closed Excel and reopened it. And now I can copy and paste between workbooks as much as I want. And mcirosoft Format Painter works as it’s supposed to as well!

So I spent I don’t know how long researching and playing around with it and it took 5 seconds to enable 3 add-ins that fixed the problem.

So that’s an OK workaround for copy and paste. But this user also wants to be able to use the format painter, which currently isn’t working between Excel documents either and the Excel clipboard is of no use with the format painter. I understand you say it’s not working for you, but you don’t say what exactly is happening. Does drag and drop copy work? Or drag and drop move? Are you copying large amounts of data?
